She was born in Ravenna, Ohio on April 15, 1957 to John and Evelyn (Wymer) Smith. She was lifelong resident of the town she loved, Ravenna.
Debbie Lou, a graduate of Ravenna High School in 1974, also worked at Robinson Memorial Hospital in food services. She worked for Portage County most of her life starting in the Commissioner’s office then on to Regional Planning and ended with Jobs & Family Services. She retired in December, 2012.
Life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She will always be remembered for her contagious laugh, her many stories, and her heart of gold.
She was an avid collector of all things that is why she loved working the Fosnight tag sales. She enjoyed seeing all the people and hearing the stories they had to tell. She enjoyed crafting, making pies, and old movies.
Debbie is survived by her sisters: Nancy Provost, Patricia Cole and her brothers: Jerry Smith, Roger Wymer, and John Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention!
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Smith and sister Peggy (Smith) Lemley.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St., Ravenna, with a memorial service, officiated by Chaplain William Wisniewski, following at 12:00 noon.
