Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy, children Sue (Bob) Kralik, Shari Taylor, Mark (Catherine) Stoessner, Shelley (Steve) Broadbent, Sally Stoessner, The best Papa to grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Kralik, Chad (Keri) Kralik, Samantha (Chris) Hudgin, Derek (Morgan)Taylor, Hillary (Andrew) Sayre, Abigail (Justin)Leggett, Zachary Broadbent, Jeremy (Meredith) Stoessner , Joshua Stoessner, Hannah (Rorry) Sheets, Great Grandchildren Riley and Avery Hudgin, Layla and Aden Kralik, Carter and Kenzie Kralik, Finley and Raegan Taylor, Olivia and Charles Leggett, Arthur Sayre. Also survived by his sisters’ Jeanne Gallagher, Patricia Fisco, Pegi Foulkrod, Marybeth Banks and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by this parents Kenneth and Elizabeth Stoessner and brother, Kenneth Stoessner.
Al went to school at St Charles Borromeo, Cathedral Latin High School, Class of 1951 and John Carroll University. Al was a Patrolman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol, changed careers to an Insurance Agent with Bryan Jones Agency and later bought the agency, renamed County Insurance Services, Inc. He retired from Jack Kohl Agency where he was a Real Estate Agent for many years.
Big Al loved golf, bowling and coaching CYO Basketball. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, Balloon A-Fair committee, Youngstown Diocese Board of Education, and was a Trustee for The Italian American Society. He was deeply involved at Immaculate Conception Church community and enjoyed traveling to Europe, golf trips, and watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting and school activities. Al was always willing to help anyone in need. He always shared his sharp wit and engaging sarcasm with everyone he met.
Per his wishes, Al has donated his body to Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Friends will be received on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, from 10am until the Memorial Mass, officiated by Rev. William Kraynak, at 11am. Inurnment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of UH Wound Center of Streetsboro and Western Reserve Hospice.
