Bob was born March 7, 1935. He graduated from Hugh Morson High School in 1955 and studied at N.C. State University. Bob served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He worked for Ark-Les for 22 years as a tool and dye maker, where he never missed a day.
He was a humble, kind and loving father and grandfather. A man of few words, but much wisdom and he loved so big. Dad was a single father that raised 4 boys in the early 70’s.
Thank you Dad for all you sacrificed, your unconditional love and all the lessons. You will truly be missed. And remember….save us a seat in Heaven. Love you always, your boys.
Bob is survived by 4 sons, Wesley Clay Wilkins (Roxey), Robert Gregory Wilkins (Krissy), Christopher Todd Wilkins (Jennifer) and Stephen Michael Wilkins (Jenny); 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 2:00 pm at Bagwell Cemetery, 5898 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh, NC 27610.
In lieu of flowers to honor Bob, the family requests that memorial gifts may be made to Meals on Wheels of Wake County or Hayes Barton Baptist Church-Broadcast Ministry.
