William Ted Lancaster

William Ted Lancaster passed away suddenly in a car accident on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen, his son Jon and husband Brian of Greenville; daughter Melissa, her husband Tim and children Ainsley and Chase of Raleigh; brother Steve Lancaster and family, sister Diane Rackley and family, and sister Donna Manning and family, all of Rocky Mount. Ted was preceded in death by his father, John C Lancaster and mother, Helen Ellis Miller, both of Rocky Mount.

Ted was happiest spending time with his family that he adored. He loved with a fierce devotion and undying loyalty to his friends and family. He will be greatly missed and always credited with providing a wonderful life to those around him.

A native of Rocky Mount, he graduated from NC Wesleyan with a degree in History. He went on to a career as a builder, predominantly in the Raleigh area. His favorite activities included flying, boating, driving sports cars, and traveling as often as possible.

The family will receive visitors at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 1701 E Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609 from 6-8pm on Friday, January 18.

In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) or to NC Wesleyan where a scholarship fund will be established in his and his wife's names.
