Vicki was born on March 23, 1960, in Efland, North Carolina, to Carrie Elizabeth Walters and Victor Carl Walters, Jr. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Brian Allison; her children, Colby Mattox (Hannah), Cody Allison (Aubree), and Tia Allison-Smith (Shane); as well as her goddaughter, Marika Samuelsson. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren—Scarlett, Emberlee, Dominic, and Levi Allison—who were a constant joy in her life.
In addition to her immediate family, Vicki is survived by her three brothers: Gordon Walters (Kathy), Bartley "Bart" Walters (Bonnie), and Roland Walters.
Vicki graduated from Orange High School in 1978 and continued her education at Hardbarger Jr. College of Business. It was during this time that she discovered her interest in fashion design, which blossomed into a passion for drawing and eventually led to her love for painting. Vicki had a successful career as an administrative assistant for more than 20 years, where she was greatly valued before her retirement in November 2023.
She became a true artist, captivating her family and friends with beautiful paintings that reflected her appreciation for nature as well as her deep affection for animals. Vicki consistently went above and beyond in every role she embraced and had a unique gift for making each person she encountered feel valued and appreciated. She consistently put others before herself, showing remarkable selflessness in every action right up until the end. The light in her eyes radiated when she reminisced about her early years on the farm, recounting the many lessons and responsibilities that helped shape who she was.
Please remember her when you smell a beautiful red rose, admire a unique antique, savor a slice of pizza or popcorn, or feel the refreshing mountain breeze, for these were a few of her favorite things.
Her legacy will always be remembered as she touched the lives of so many around her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at "The Nest," located at 414 Fayetteville Street, 4th Floor, Raleigh, NC 27601. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cause for Paws in Raleigh, NC, or to a charity of your choice.
