Pete Sloan, 45, passed away suddenly on Friday June 29, 2012, in Raleigh, NC. He was born on August 6, 1966, in Barnesville, OH, beloved son of the late William Paul Sloan and Pamela Jo Sloan.
Pete was an Ohio University Bobcat. He was a writer and editor with several newspapers, publications and blogs. He loved Penn State football and was an extremely passionate LA Dodgers fan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Pete is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 11 years, April Sloan and furry child, Dexy; his brother, Kirt Sloan and his wife Robin; nephews Justin Sloan and Jared Sloan; his father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Glenda Candy, and brother-in-law, Elisha Candy.
A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 5th at 3:00 pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm at the funeral home.
