Simone was born on December 17, 1965 in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Broughton High School. Her professional career centered around her family business, J&H Stables. She spent many years teaching, encouraging, and mentoring kids and adults alike. Her lessons went beyond horses and extended into life values. She regularly reminisced about all the trail rides, horse shows, and people who had impacted her life.
More than anything, Simone loved spending time with her family. Vacation trips to the North Carolina beaches and mountains were constant. But whether it was vacationing, going to a local park, or simply hanging out in the backyard, she possessed a remarkable ability to make every moment spent with family feel special. You could guarantee that she was always going to be one of the loudest supporters at her grandchildren’s sports games. And don’t forget her cooking, which was always “made with love.” Whether you were family, a friend, or a stranger, there was plenty of food and a seat at the table for you.
Simone loved the outdoors and every animal she met. She was an avid gardener, and you could always expect that her yard would be blooming with florals. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. As a fun loving, free-spirit, Simone had a knack for connecting with the magic of childhood. Whether it was painting horseshoes, creating fairy gardens, or being a pen-pal, her creativity and imagination was always present.
Simone was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, David Brannan of 37 years, son Ash (Jennifer), son Austin (Rachel), grandchildren Avery, Claire, Caleb, Blake, and August.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilton and Jean Lamm.
