Shirley Roop Eaton, 80, died June 26, 2016. She was born in Radford, VA on April 4, 1936 to Roy Martin Roop and Mary Sowers Roop. Shirley was very active in the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a Stephen Minister and her other work with the church.
She is survived by her children, Jay Anthony Eaton and wife, Donna and Kimberley Eaton Wright and husband, Randall; grandchildren, Brandon Lee Wright and James Bryan Wright and wife, Melanie; great grandchild, Jake Anderson Wright; siblings, Marty Roop and Zulla R. Austin.
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm. Interment at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
