Robert was born February 5, 1932 in Akron, Ohio. After graduating from The Cleveland Institute of Art, he devoted his artistry and intellect towards designing products for several companies including Westinghouse, GTE Sylvania, and ITT. He also designed Buddy L toy trucks and Barbie accessories. In 1986 Gault started his own business, Gault Design, and primarily designed patent drawings for many lawyers.
Robert was a man of service. As a youth, Robert served valiantly as a Medic with the US Army. Later in life, he became very active with the Helen Wright Center in Raleigh. He was also known for helping anyone in need, with a ride to church. For the past 7 years, Robert attended an hour of Adoration at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church every Friday night. In his later years, Robert exemplified his great faith through the creation of more than 70 pen-and-ink drawing of various Saints.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Gault; daughters, Anne Marie Miller and Sandra Marie Gault; sons, Robert John Gault, Michael Charles Gault, and David Mark Gault; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends that loved him dearly.
A Funeral Mass of Reconciliation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Rd, Raleigh. Following the Mass will be the interment in the church columbarium. Lunch and visitation time with the family will be provided in the church’s Founders Room after the funeral until 2:00PM.
