Robert Edward Fite

Robert "Bob" Edward Fite passed away, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Rex Hospital. He was born July 9, 1925 in Paw Creek, Mecklenburg County to the late Thomas Egbert Fite and Ada Campbell Fite. He served our country as a submarine radio operator in the US Navy. "Bob" earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1950. He retired after 25 years of service with N.C. State University and went on to provide Electrical Engineering services with several firms.

Surviving: devoted wife of 55 years, Belle Lee Fite; daughters, Anna Fite Croft of Thomasville, Jennifer Atkins Fite of Raleigh; grandchildren: Allison Croft, Wilson Croft and nine nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Campbell Fite, George Walter Fite and sisters Muriel Fite Mims and Alice Fite Clark.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 23 6:00-8:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh. Graveside service will be held Tuesday March 24, 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27604.
