Robert "Bob" Powell Finke

Robert "Bob" Powell Finke, 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Born on December 6, 1921 in Waterville, Minnesota; he was the son of the late Oscar and Bessie Powell Finke. He served honorably in the US Navy, had a productive career with IBM as an Engineer and truly loved his wife and family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Julia Rodriguez Finke; daughter: Kathleen Marie Byram and husband Peter Byram, of Raleigh; grandchildren: Dr. Heather Elizabeth Brady and husband Dr. Patrick Brady, of Washington, DC, Dr. Ian Robert Emmerson Byram and wife Emily Johnson Byram, of Nashville, TN, and Rebekah Kathleen Powell Byram, of Boone and Raleigh; by his sister: Elaine F. Sayre, of DuBois, PA; and by several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son: Robert Daniel Finke, sister, Audrey Hoffert, sister-in-law, Claudia Giacobbe and brothers-in-law: James Sayre, Chester Hoffert, and Daniel Rodriguez.

A Memorial service will be held at Providence Baptist Church in the Amphitheater on Sunday, November 14th at 2:00 PM, with interment following at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunrise of Raleigh and also Hospice of Wake County for all the care and love shown to Bob and to us the past few months.
