Ralph was born May 13, 1922 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, the son of Needham Bud and Rosa Jane Woodard Ingram. He married his childhood sweetheart, Addie Louise Carr, on September 3, 1948. She preceded him in death in 1996. Ralph married Marion Rea Spooner in 1999, who was by his side at the time of his passing.
Ralph was, by trade, the Executive Vice President of Carolina Builders Corporation and a Vice President with Goodman Toyota. He served as a pilot in the Air Force during World War II, achieving the rank of Major. He was the proud graduate of North Carolina State University.
Ralph’s love of community and people led him to serve as a member of the Raleigh Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, YMCA Board of Directors, United Carolina Bank, the NC State School of Design, and was President of the Raleigh Rotary Club. He was also Vice President of the Raleigh Air Force Association and a Major in the Air Force Reserve.
Ralph’s greatest gift, besides his family, was his ability to love and give so much of himself to others. He sacrificed countless hours as a devoted volunteer in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Stake Missionary, Sunday School teacher, Branch Presidency Counselor, Stake Presidency Counselor, Stake President, Patriarch, and Sealer in the Raleigh North Carolina Temple. In his final months, Ralph has been surrounded by so many friends who came to thank him for all the love and compassion he has extended into their lives for so many years.
Ralph is survived by 3 children, Kermit Ingram, Spicer Ingram, and Patricia Louise “Patty Lou” Sego; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a large family of loved one and friends.
