Phyllis Wadsworth Miller, 82, died Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Raleigh, NC. She was born in Ithaca, NY and raised in Boulder, CO, daughter of the late Burton Wadsworth Jones and Marian Grace (Snelling) Jones. She earned a Bachelor's degree in History from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Phyllis held numerous jobs in her life, including at Bell Telephone in NJ, in real estate in Hong Kong, and at BTI in Raleigh. Following her retirement, she volunteered at the Red Cross and became engaged in the Cypress community of North Raleigh where she lived. Throughout her life, she was an avid traveler whose journeys spanned the globe from East Asia to Southern Africa, from Alaska to Argentina. Her energy and wit will be greatly missed by her many friends and all those who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at the ballroom at Cypress of Raleigh, 8801 Cypress Lake Drive, Raleigh on Friday, October 21st at 3pm. Memories can be shared at www.dignitymemorial.com.
Phyllis is survived by her son Eric Miller and daughter-in-law Brett Saarela of Ancram, NY; her son-in-law, James Rasmussen of Seattle, WA; her brother Christopher Jones and sister-in-law Nancy Neufeld of Mesa, AZ; brother-in-law John Miller and sister-in-law Carol Miller of Ft. Meyers, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Richard Miller, and her daughter, Pamela Miller.
