Patrick Guy Hallihan

He is survived by wife Karla Hallihan, children Elle and Patrick Hallihan. Parents Thomas and Nancy Hallihan, brother Thomas Hallihan, Jr. and Thao Pham, sister Elizabeth Farley and her husband Christopher Farley, brother Sean Hallihan and wife Jill Hallihan, Mother-in-law Eloda Watson, Sister-in-law Paula Dusenbery and her husband Mark. Patrick had several nieces and nephews that loved him. Shaelyn Farley, Logan Farley, Brady Hallihan, Tyler Hallihan, Emma Hallihan, Shelby Hedgpeth, Kendall Hedgpeth, Samuel Dusenbery, and MiKayla Dusenbery. Great niece and nephews Connor Hedgpeth, Benjamin Hedgpeth and LakeLee Dusenbery.

Patrick received an associate degree in Forestry from Sterling College in Sterling, Vermont as well as a Bachelors in Science in Geography at Southern Connecticut State University. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Connecticut Carpenter Union.

Patrick entered the military in 1988. He served 30 years of combined active guard and reserve service. During this time, Patrick started his career with the military police, then spent the majority of time in Special Forces as a Communication Sergeant and retired as a Special Forces Senior Sergeant. During his service, he deployed to three combat zones including Invasion of Panama, Desert Storm (Gulf War) and a tour in Afghanistan (Enduring Freedom) as well as numerous other deployments in support such as the War on Drugs in Central South America and other joint combined exercise for training (JCET) in South America and Africa. He earned two bronze stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Senior Parachutist Wings, and a host of other campaign ribbons and citations.

He loved spending time with his family hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking, and anything outdoors. He loved his wife and family, and he will be a void in their lives. He was quick witted, and his sense of humor will be missed by all! We love you Pat.

The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Committal Services, with Military Honors, will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
