Nancy Tapscott was born in New Canton, VA to Mary Kathleen Butler and E.A. Butler. Mom, as she was called by her 2 sons, Hunter Hilton Tapscott and Alan Thomas Tapscott, was the great, complete Mom and she packed school lunches and drove to countless swimming events, baseball, football and basketball practices. Through the years Mom was there for her boys in every way possible.
Nancy had a love of life and her greatest pleasures were travel, cats, mystery novels, Star Trek (had a crush on Spock) and dining out. She worked for NC State University in their Textiles program and then at the Continuing Education Center.
One of her favorite quotes was “There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats” – Albert Schweitzer. Nancy would like you to tell someone today that you love them. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 15th at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Raleigh.
