Nancy was born March 1, 1948 to the late Jack Wallace Loman and Algerie Norris Loman. She was a graduate of Madison Academy in Huntsville, AL and Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. Nancy was a member of Brooks Avenue Church of Christ in Raleigh. She is known and loved for her dedication to teaching preschool for over 25 years. Nancy was totally committed to serving others in many ways at the church including: the Clothes Closet; Food Pantry; the ESL Practice English Program; and VBS.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leo H. Ficht, Jr.; son, Leo “Lee” H. Ficht III and his wife, Patricia Tatsumi-Ficht of Fayetteville; sisters, Charlotte Mann and husband, David of New Hope, AL; and Joan Robinson and husband, Richard of Columbus, MS; 3 grandchildren, Ryan; Sophia and Brandon; and beloved nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Brooks Avenue Church of Christ, 700 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
