Merle David Bauer

Merle was born in Crete, Nebraska on September 21, 1937 to David and Adeline Bauer. He graduated from Lincoln High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business from the University of Nebraska. Merle enjoyed his 30-year career with GlaxoSmithKline working in various sales roles and consulting for them post-retirement.

Merle met everyone with a welcoming smile and had a wicked sense of humor! Because he saw the funny side of everything he was always surrounded by laughter. He enjoyed reading, running and physical fitness, trips to the mountains and cheering on his beloved Nebraska Corn Huskers!

Merle is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Heidi Lynn Bauer and brother, Daryl Bauer. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Miriam “Mimi” Caldwell Bauer, extended family and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held October 17th at 3pm at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

Jim Ferry of White Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Employee Holiday Fund at The Cardinal at North Hills, Transitions LifeCare or White Memorial Presbyterian Church.
