Mark Wayne King, 69, of Cary, passed away December 5, 2024 after a hard battle against stage four pancreatic cancer. Born on January 20, 1955, in Kingsport, Tennessee, Mark was the son of the late Roy and Jean King. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Nicole (Blake) Field, three grandchildren(Declan, Tobias, and Emilia), sister Diana(Larry) and many other loving family members and friends.
Mark was a humble and loyal man, passionate about his family and friends, ensuring that their happiness was always put above his own. You would often find him playing on the floor with his grandchildren or teaching them all things sports. His dedication and hard work can be seen by his 42 years of service with American Airlines, retiring in 2020. He loved visiting with his sister in Kingsport and traveling the world with his wife. He was truly a man of God, reading scripture and studying the Bible daily. He found peace in knowing that one day he would be in heaven with God and reunited with his parents. Mark and his wife are members’ of Hayes Barton Baptist Church. He was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Volunteer football, and enjoyed watching Nascar racing.
A memorial service will be held at Hayes Barton Baptist Church on December 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
