Louie Taylor Lucas

Jesus Christ on Friday, November 11, 2022. She was 88 years old.

Born December 15, 1933 in Columbia, South Carolina, Louie was the middle of nine children, and the last surviving child of Walter “Shine” and Margaret Hoover Taylor.

Louie Taylor Lucas is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Thomas Lee Lucas, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Jeannie Lucas, and her husband Seth O. Medlin of Morehead City, NC their son Graham Lucas Medlin and his wife Monica Poteat; her son C. Daniel Lucas and his wife Deborah O.

Lucas of Holly Springs, NC and their son Joshua Lee Lucas, his wife Rachel; and her granddaughter Jillian Li and her husband Sidney Tyree Adkins. Louie also has one great-granddaughter, Aspen Hadley Lucas.

Louie graduated in 1982 from NC State University with a BA in Accounting and worked as a tax accountant until her retirement.

Louie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also loved her Lord and was devoted to her church Highland United Methodist. There she served as a Sunday School teacher for three decades, and also served one year as the Director of Christian Education.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Highland United Methodist Church, on Ridge Road in Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Louie’s memory to Highland United Methodist Church
