Lorraine Randolph Pegram Bobbitt

Lorraine was greeted with open arms by her Lord and Savior on June 04, 2012. Born August 13, 1931 in Warren County, NC, the daughter of Forest and Lota Pegram formerly of Vaughan NC.

Lorraine was dedicated to her professional career with the N.C. Judicial Branch. After 42 years she retired to enjoy family and other interest. She was very devoted to her family and took great pride in cooking exceptional meals. She made sure her family knew how very much she loved them and how proud she was of them. Though she leaves us heavy hearted, we are so blessed to have had her in our lives. We know we will be rejoined again in Heaven.

Lorraine was presented the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award for dedicated service with the Judicial Branch. She also served as president of the American Business Woman’s Association and in 1988 was awarded American Business Woman of the Year. Lorraine also served numerous positions with the Woman’s Club of Raleigh and in 2008 received the Clubwoman with Heart merit award.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Frederick Bobbitt Sr., daughter Sylvia Murphy (husband David), son Tommy Bobbitt (wife Pam), three grandchildren Daniel Martin (wife Erika), Sarah Bobbitt, Tommy Bobbitt, one step-grandchild David Murphy Jr. and one great grandchild Emma Martin.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Beacon Baptist Church, 2110 Trawick Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. The funeral service will follow at 6:30 pm. Graveside services will be Friday June 8, 2012 at 11:00am in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Littleton, NC.
