On January 29, 2019, Kevin D. Twomey, 55, died of a sudden illness after being lovingly cared for at Transitions LifeCare Hospice, Raleigh, NC. He was employed as a senior business analyst at BB&T bank.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Marina and Larry Twomey of Liverpool and two sisters, Susan (Donald) Hammack, Oviedo, FL and Lisa (Erick) Holm, W. Granby, CT. Also surviving are his nieces and nephew, Emily, Stephanie, Kay and Faith Hammack and Lily and Evan Holm, who have happy memories of spending time with him in NYC, and one grandnephew, Holden Hammack, as well as several cousins.
He was a graduate of Liverpool High School and Stony Brook University where he received a degree in electrical engineering. He received an MBA in finance from Indiana Wesleyan University. Kevin worked in both banking and consumer electronics. During the 1990s, as a product manager at Thomson Consumer Electronics, Kevin was instrumental in rolling out the first satellite dish systems as well as the Digital Video Disc product.
He enjoyed biking, boating and exercise, and lived life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his big smile and his generosity. A memorial mass is planned for a later date. Donations may be made to Gigi’s Playhouse, Cicero, NY.
