Kay was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Kenneth Hayes, son: Thomas Michael Hayes, sister: Marion Lusko and brother: William Barno.
She is survived by her daughter: Deborah Hayes Long, of Raleigh; sons: Robert John Hayes (Judy), of Jacksonville, FL and David James Hayes (Phyllis), of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three grandsons: Douglas (Corinne), Daniel (Kari), and Jonathan Hayes; great-grandchildren: Emalynn, Celeste, Valerie, Khloe, Rylee, Wyatt, Wilson and Natalie; sister: Geraldine del Cano, of Endwell, NY; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10 am in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, NC). Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park. For those unable to attend in person, a video of services can be found below under DONATIONS.
