death she was at home in Raleigh surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on December 19, 1947 in Chicago, Ill to the late Henry William Rosenthal, Jr.
and June Sundstrom Rosenthal. She grew up in the city and attended Southern Illinois
University.
She was a dedicated member of numerous Bible studies over the years, served on the board
of Interact and was a member of the Seed and Sod garden club. Judy had a love of travel and
a keen eye for design and the arrangement of interiors. She was the ultimate hostess and was
happiest entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. All would say of her that she was
a loyal friend.
Judy is survived by her son, RJ Blondeau and wife Shea of Raleigh; her daughter, Corey Blondeau of Raleigh; her brother, Bill Rosenthal and wife Karen of Valparaiso, IN; and her sister, Barbara
Berti and husband James of Lake Geneva, WI. JuJu was very proud of her five grandchildren who also survive her, Henry and Gray Blondeau and Turnage, Anderson and Ann Barrett Monk, all of Raleigh.
A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on Monday, November 12th at 2:00pm at Edenton
Street United Methodist Church at 228 W. Edenton St. in Raleigh. The family will receive friends
from 12:30-1:30 at the church, prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Oakwood
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Judy’s name to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Cir. Raleigh, NC 27607.
