Joseph Henry Blanchette, 82, peacefully passed away on April 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born on March 23, 1925 in Lawrence, MA to his parents the late Oscar Blanchette and Helen Lacaillade Blanchette.
Joe was a graduate of Lawrence High School and a retired veteran of WW II and Korea. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth “Mickey” in 2010. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Rene “Biff” and his wife Tina, of Denver PA, Karen Klein, of Ocala FL, Gail Moore, of Raleigh; Grandchildren- Ashley Brian, Joseph John, Danyel Catherine, Shaun Alexander, John Earl, Eric Joseph, Christina Louise, Jasmine Michele, and Anna Katrina; Great Grandchildren- Keely Lane, Kodi, Koda, Lynzee, Branden, Victoria, William, Layla, Daisy, Jackson, Jacqueline, Taylor, Nicholas, and Jaxson. He will also be missed by his sister Sylvia Webb, of Lawrence PA and nephew Jim Webb, of GA. He was predeceased by his brother, Oscar Blanchette, Jr. and sisters, Lorraine Jalbert, and Georgette Thomas.
The family will receive friends and have a memorial service at their home on Thursday April 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm, 5809 Foxhall Village Road, Raleigh. Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice of Wake County or to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.com in memory of Joe.
