Very saddened to learn of Jason’s passing. He has left this place much too soon. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Jason was one of very small, special group with whom I shared the classroom from Mrs Minnick’s kindergarten at St Ann’s all the way through NCSU. Rest in peace, Jason. Wheaties.

Jason was my partner's close colleague, which is how I met him. I'd heard for months about this guy's tough exterior, so when I came into the office for the first time with some holiday treats to hand out, I wasn't expecting the warmest response from him. To my surprise, he couldn't have been kinder or more appreciative. He always made a point to talk to me and ask how I was when I saw him at company events and was extremely polite and courteous. He always passed along a sincere "thank you" for anything I brought to the office for the guys, and it's clear from the stories I've heard from my partner over the last decade that he was a dedicated and loyal coworker, someone who was always there to help and tell an irreverent joke to make you laugh. My deepest sympathies to Jason's loved ones. This loss leaves a big absence in the CH family. He will be truly missed and forever remembered.

There was never a dull moment when Jason was around. He was quick witted and loved being with friends. I will miss him dearly. Love you Jason, RIP

I was a high school friend of his, CCHS 92. and we both liked the same kind of music, Metallica and Van Halen. He and I an our mutual friends Kenny and Carlton went to a few concerts together..... Ratt, Kiss and Van Halen just to name a few.... Sure he said A LOT of thinks that would upset people but I always envied him because he said what was on his mind and NEVER used a 'filter'. What you saw in him is what you got!!!!!

When I first started working with Jay, we were told he sticks religiously to “his routine” (which anyone that knows Jay could tell you where he was any minute of every day haha). We were told Jay never deviated and to not even waste our time inviting him out because it was “laundry night” or whatever. Dave Christensen and I worked on getting him to break out a little more and we succeeded. We got Jay to come to parties and let loose. He ended up becoming less of a project and more of a friend. I’d even meet him up at Crowleys for a beer and a couple smokes. At first, having people encroach on his routine unsettled him… but the more we did, the more we got to see the guy that we wished everyone else got to see. A fun guy. A good friend. Great humor. A true love for others that he liked. Jay was the most unique man I ever met, and someone I looked up to. We all needed more of him in our own lives and he needed us. He’s truly one that is in a better place and we all will feel this loss for some time. 

It's so hard to put into a few words the impact Jason had on so many people.  When he was hired at CHR, it did not take him long to fit right in.  I did not ever drink with him or hang out with him, but the Jason I knew was always very kind and respectful.  If he and I were passing each other and a door was involved, he always stopped and waited so he could hold the door for me.  It was a little thing, but it meant a lot to me.  I told him one time that he was the kindest and most respectful of anyone in the office.  In typical Jason fashion he said "I would hope so.  I was raised right."  I will miss Jason.  Many will miss him.  

I worked with Jason for 7 years and sat next to him every day.  I was fresh out of college and Jason was as much a part of my life for those 7 years as anyone in my family was.  I remember drinking Joose in the parking lot out of a cooler with Jason and the rest of our group.  I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.   Jason is a huge reason why I am successful today and I owe so much to him for helping me grow up after college.  I haven't see Jason in a few years, but talked to him often.  Really gonna miss you man.  Take care of those 18-Wheelers up in the sky.  Love ya brother!

I worked with Jason at C.H. Robinson for the last 5 years. I always enjoyed our early morning conversations around the coffee machine Usually about the F1 race the weekend prior. I will miss him. He was a great man. 

Jason and I worked closely for many years. I was lucky enough to be his friend and have my desk next to his for many years.   Because of that I learned so much from him.  He was such solid, loyal, dependable friend and coworker.  You could count on Jason, and knowing he felt the same way about you was a great privilege. He will be greatly missed and we will feel the loss for a long time.  

I worked with Jason for the past 18 years.  He was a cornerstone of our office in Raleigh.  He and I talked about how good (but mostly bad) the Wolfpack would in basketball and football each season.   The office certainly won't be the same without Jason at his desk like clockwork every morning when we walk in.  It has been really great to see the outpouring of support from the C.H. Robinson network offering up memories, laughs and condolences during this time.  I offer the same to Jason's family and loved ones as they grieve.    See ya Jay Bird....

Jay was the pinnacle of what we strived to achieve at our job at CH Robinson.   He was extremely good at what he did and was so much fun to work with.   His passing has caused much grief and sorrow but his memoires will carrier on and make us laugh for many more years. 

Jason was a wonderful worker, amazing colleague, and extremely witty and funny!   My coworkers and I have certainly been filled with sorrow, but I’m happiest about the fact that I’ve had the privilege to work with and get to know and respect Jason, and that’s a comfort in this time of grief.
