James Jefferson Stephens Sr.

Stephens, James Jefferson Sr., 88, of Franklinton passed away Monday, March 26, 2012. He was the son of the late Henry Roger and Mary Ethel Stephens, born December 12, 1923 in Raleigh. Mr. Stephens retired from Southern Bell telephone after 40 years of dedicated service. He was the Past Master and long time member of the Millbrook Masonic Lodge, he was also a member of Amram Temple in Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Mae McGee Stephens in 2005.

Surviving are; two daughters, Mary Ann Branch, and husband Freddy of Raleigh, Helen Denise Perry of Franklinton; four sons, James Stephens, and wife Polly of Franklinton, Donald Stephens, and wife Rita of Raleigh, Robert Earl Stephens of Franklinton, Roy Stephens, and Jennifer of Wendell; seven grandchildren, Bobby Branch, Angela Hughes, Juanita Dean, Kim Hernandez, Laura Bledsoe, Michael Perry and Hunter Stephens; nine great-grandchildren.

Family will be present to receive friends Thursday , March 29, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, where funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11 AM. Burial, with Masonic Services, will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Park, 7600 Acc Blvd, Raleigh, 27617.
