Pete was a Pharmacist for over 65 years first working with his father at Hayes Barton Pharmacy and then opening his own Oak Park Pharmacy. He also worked at Kerr Drugs and Apex Central Pharmacy.
Pete was a faithful husband, a loving father and grandfather, a veteran of the Air Force, a member of the North Raleigh Rotary, a passionate Wolfpack supporter, and a dedicated parishioner of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife Mary C. Gattis who passed in 2000.
He is survived by his children Katherine G. Gattis, Hobson I. Gattis III, and Susan G. Patton; his grandchildren Nicholas A. Gattis and Sarah Grace Patton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society of America.
A visitation for Pete will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home & Crematory, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
