Harley touched so many lives and was loved by all who met her and even those who did not get a chance to. We held her in our arms for a short while but we will hold her in our hearts forever. Harley’s life was a continuous miracle even before she came into this world.
Born at thirty-seven weeks with Trisomy18, and weighing 3lbs, 13 oz., Harley was able to grip her parents’ fingers, get skin to skin snuggles, and respond to their voices. She stole all of our hearts with her precious smile, perfect button nose, lasting footprints, and puckered lips. She enjoyed being held, reading all of her books, and face timing her fur brother and sister, Winston and Willow.
She is survived by her mother and father, Tyler and Emily Vigil; her grandparents, Patrick and Beverly Barbour; her Minnie and Pops, Heather and Matt Cloutier; great grandmother, Linda Liles; great grandfather, Jim Mattingley; great grandparents, Mike and Nancy Cloutier; God parents, Tyler Shuffler and Sarah Sullivan; aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles and cousins.
Harley joins her Papa, Robby Shuffler; great grandfathers, Robert Shuffler and Edward Liles; and great grandmother Sue Mattingley; along with many others in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses of UNC Children’s Hospital NICU in Chapel Hill, NC for their incredible care provided to Harley and the entire family; and a very special thanks to Dr. Marty McCaffrey, neonatologist and an angel sent by God to help us through this journey.
