Gregory Edwin Small, of Raleigh, NC, age 65, died November 5, 2021 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC following his extended illness. Greg was predeceased by his loving parents John Edwin Small and Grace Floyd Small, of Raleigh, NC.
Growing up he was a dedicated athlete playing on baseball and basketball teams. Later, his passion for playing on the golf course. Following his graduation from Sanderson High School, Greg earned his Business Administration Degree from Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC and retired with long term disability from the North Carolina Department of Revenue in Raleigh.
Greg was a devoted member of Crabtree Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed home cooked meals, trips to Holden Beach, and his friends and family. He always kept up on the local weather and sports reports. He was an avid sportsman and a loyal fan of NC State Wolfpack and the Green Bay Packers. Survived by his only child, Emily, 26, of Asheville, NC.
The family will honor his life was a reception at Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, November 13th at 11:30 am and a Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm in Raleigh Memorial Park. A recording of the service will be posted afterwards for those unable to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Crabtree Valley Baptist Church or the Crohn's Foundation.
