Francis “Frank” McAloon, 89, died Saturday, July 28, 2012. A native of Glasgow, Scotland, he was born February 25, 1923 to the late Patrick and Jane McAloon. Frank has resided in Raleigh for 20 years. He retired as Director of Communications from Pitney-Bowes and was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh. He was preceded in death by a son, Francis T. McAloon.
He is survived by; his wife, of 62 years, Wilhelmina S. McAloon of Raleigh; a daughter, Janette Lucy of Raleigh; two sons, Paul McAloon of Florida and Tony McAloon and his wife, Marian of London, England; seven grandchildren, Evan Lucy of Washington, DC., Jennifer Lasater of Illinois, Frank, and Jonathan McAloon of Illinois, Fergus, Olivia and Innes McAloon of London, England; four great-grandchildren, Jack Lasater, Heyden McAloon, Andrew Lasater and Broden McAloon.
A special heartfelt thank you to the management, staff, care managers /providers at Sunrise of Raleigh for all the love, patience, tenderness and extra special care extended to Frank over the past two-and-a-half years. May God bless all of you for your tireless work. To the wonderful nurses and aides at The William M. Dunlap Center for Caring (Hospice Home) in Raleigh, thank you for your compassionate and dignified care of our Father during the last week of his life. We are forever grateful.
