She was born in Providence, RI on March 19, 1925 to Battista G. Cortese and Maria Calini Cortese. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John A. Cuculo, parents, and sister, Rose Cortese, she leaves behind her devoted and adoring daughters Sherry Honeycutt (Jack), Patty James, and Laurie Johnson (Doug); six grandchildren Kellie Honeycutt-Schellenberg (Burck), Matt Honeycutt (Katie), John James, Matt James, Alexa Estevez (Rafi), and Caitlin Beck (Taylor), as well as four precious great-grandchildren Reade Honeycutt, Jackson Honeycutt, Sabine Schellenberg, and Olivia Beck.
Mrs. Cuculo was a dedicated wife and mother, always thinking of her family first, enjoying their numerous visits, playing with her cat, reading, loving her church, playing bridge, and traveling the world with her husband, and always finding room for a bite of cheesecake. Her smile lit up a room, and she brought joy to all who knew her.
The family would like to thank their mom’s wonderful caretakers at The Rosewood for making Mrs. Cuculo feel comfortable, happy, and respected.
A funeral mass will be held at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (1071 East Millbrook Road), on Saturday, July 22nd, at 1:00 pm, with visitation from noon – 1:00 pm. Father John Forbes, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate at the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
