It has taken me a long long time to put my feeling into words.  You, Ed, Leslie, and Jeff were and are so much a part of our family as we are yours.  There are too, too many memories to list but you know how we felt about "Uncle Yeddie".  You and Yeddie loved my children as if they were you own.  
 We shall all miss him terribly but what memories we have to share with one another as we look back almost 50 years of knowing him and your family.  We know that we will see you and Leslie and Jeff again and we can all reminisce   together.  I have tears in my eyes just writing this to you.  Please know that I think of you often and hope you loss is getting easier.  Yeddie was truly and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and most of all a "friend".

Harriet and I are very sorry to hear about Ed.  Duane Claveau sent me an e-mail.  He will be sorely missed.  Ed and I go way back to the beginning of our careers with Dupont.  I joined Montague way before the plant start-up.  Ed came from Savannah and I from Chambers Works(NJ) December 1955.  We both joined the Company in 1952.  My career was always in the HR field.  We both were with the start-up and shut down of Montague.  I went to Beaumont a short time after start-up and returned to Montague in HR when Ed moved from HR back to engineering.  Ed went to Wilmington and I transferred to Louisana. Later, we had different HR assignments and eventually Ed went to Asia and I went to Mexiaco City and returned to Wilmington and remained until early retirement in 1988 and settled in Maine.  There were a few ocasions that we had the opportunity to chat.  Ed is a super people person.  A great person to know and to work with.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Ed was my cousin and, though I didn't get to spend much time with him and Pat and their children because of how far we lived from them, I remember him as a lovable, playful person.  Reading all the things people have written about him makes me realize how much like his mother he was.  Aunt Ruth was one of the most fun-filled, optimistic people in the family and she passed it on.  I'm glad my cousin had such a full life with so many people who appreciated him.  Eddie and Pat -- two wonderful people I'll always hold dear in my heart.  My deepest sympany goes out to all the immediate family including his sister Sandi and to the friends who will miss him in their lives.  It seems he touched many.

Ed was a really close friend of my parents in Michigan. I remember being at the Green's house and Ed always having a twinkle in his eye and a joke ready. He teased me with the talking parrot toy that repeated anything I said. I'm so sorry for your loss Pat, Leslie, and Jeff. I think Ed found one of the biggest secrets of life- to enjoy what's in front of us! He will be missed.

Ed had the kind of friendly outgoing personality that gave him instant rapport with everyone he met.  Those characteristics gave him a stage presence that was engaging and his storytelling abilities could probably have afforded him a different career.  For those of us fortunate enough to have worked and played with him, he easily became a totally trustworthy friend.  The kind of friend that feels like family and that you probably only develop maybe a half dozen in your whole lifetime. 
His sense of humor was infectious and gave joy to all those around him.  He was able to exert his optimistic attitude even into serious business situations and reduce the stress level for those involved.  He was a leader that kept things moving with his passion and enthusiasm. 
His passion for golf got me interested in the game and I am grateful for that.  He was a friendly competitor and kibitzer who could both "dish-it-out" and "take-it" when appropriate and that made him exceptionally fun to play golf with-- just wish we could have done more of that.  
Fortunately for DuPont, the leaders recognized his talents and assigned him in the Human Relations organization.  He was friendly to everyone and always exhibited empathy for concerns. He was a natural-born peacemaker who could always see both sides of any controversy and explain them in a neutral manner.  I remember one of his sayings at Montague was, "People just want a fair shake". And, fairness was one of his strongest suits. 
He was a great "meeter and greeter"!  He exhibited self assurance, "class", and poise in any kind of gathering.  He was well-read and had many interests that made him a great conversationalist and travelling companion.  You just knew that anytime you were going to be with Ed, whether travelling, meeting or partying,  that you were going to have a good time!  And, it always turned out that way.  We miss him already, but are thankful that we got to know him and enjoy his presence at least for a few years and we will always treasure the many fond memories of our times together.

Uncle Yeddie, always made me laugh.  He told the best jokes and as I got older the best dirty jokes.  I'll miss seeing him and gettin my kiss.

It was shocking to learn of Ed's untimely passing.   Susan and I recall the fun times together at Mt Air both on and off the golf course.   We always found Ed to be fun loving and a real jokester.   We pray that his memory will be a blessing forever.

My heart felt thoughts go out to Patsy, Leslie, Jeoffrey and Ed's extended family.  Having shared 5 years of University classes, Ed and I both decided in July 1952 to join Dupont's challenging assignment to build and operate the Atomic Energy Plant in South Carolina. I still remember Ed and I attempting to drive over the mountains to our new job in a 1940 Ford at night without lights.  Ed never lost his sense of humour during the trip or in the years to follow.  Sharing family experiences in Aiken, S.C. still bring back happy memories.  While Ed continued his very successful career with Dupont, I elected to follow another path and ended up settling in Australia.  The sharing of the many activities with Ed will remain one of the very positive chapters of my life.  My only regret is that Ed and I never had the opportunity to share some rounds of golf 'down under'.  Don Schoen , Byron Bay NSW Australia

I attended Duke's service today and was touched by the obvious fondness for him by all who spoke. I had the honor of playing some golf with he and Geoff and found Duke to be a great golfer, and a wisecracking fun person. He will be missed.

We had the pleasure of knowing Ed and Pat when we lived at Mountain Air in Burnsville, NC.  Ed was a lot of fun and I, in particular, enjoyed sharing the stage with him at the local Parkway Playhouse.  He will be missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to your family.

Thank you for all the advise over the year's and all the laugh's. Ed was the perfect buddy.  Never critical.  Always there for each other.  Its been nearly 20 years since we had our regular 3 times a week golf group at Pinehurst and they remain the best of times for me.  And the visits we had with each other from the mountains of NC to the recent Raleigh area.  Treasures each and every one of them.  And those years where we left no bourbon untouched.  Or joke told only once.  Lord knows I miss you.  Keep a spot for me in that foursome on the Heaven course.  Love you man ....

Ed was my cousin and I have always been very proud of him.  He had a way of making you feel good just to be in his presence.  He visited our family when our three daughters were small and he made each of them feel very special.
