Dylan Frederic Park of Raleigh died June 13 at the age of 37. He was born in Durham on September 3, 1977 and grew up in Chapel Hill and Durham before moving to Raleigh when he was 12 years old. He was graduated from Hale High School (now St. David’s School) and from Appalachian State University with a degree in business.
Dylan was a much loved, kind and considerate person with a deep appreciation for humor and the beauty of nature. He loved the beach, the mountains, travel and music, especially the songs of Jimi Hendrix and Townes Van Zandt. He previously worked for Tyco International in sales and most recently was building, repairing and customizing guitars in his home shop.
Dylan is survived by his mother, Lyn Judith Glassman of Hayden, Idaho, his father, Fred Miller Park, his stepmother, Betty Ragland Park, and his brother, Nathaniel Ragland Park, all of Raleigh.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Ann Glassman of Chapel Hill and Edward Glassman of Southern Pines, NC; his uncles, Ben Park (Karen) of Los Angeles and John Park of Raleigh; and his cousins, Robin Park Boxer of Tiburon, CA and Mandy Park of Seattle, WA.
Dylan was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Charlotte Park of Raleigh.
He was a member of Christ Church (Episcopal) in Raleigh. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, 120 E. Edenton Street, on Thursday, June 18 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall following the service. Burial will be private.
