Debbie-Jo Guarglia, 62, passed away on May 2, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Born on December 4, 1954 in Staten Island, New York; she was the daughter of Joseph R. Guarglia, Sr. and the late Barbara Bennett Guarglia. Debbie-Jo graduated from Haverling High School Class of 1973, Gamma PHI sorority, Paul Deans Beauty Salon and Barber School, Elmira NY.
Known to shop till she dropped and ramming the roads like no other, Debbie-Jo was affectionately nicknamed “Oprah” for always finding out the hottest news around town. She was a Hippie chick who would always use the backdoor, snowman collector extraordinaire and she was Amish in another life. She was preceded in death by her mother: Barbara Ann Bennett Guarglia.
Debbie-Jo is lovingly remembered by her son: Jesse-Jo Kuefel and wife Molly Catherine Kuefel; grandchildren: Finley Ann Kuefel and Owen Kirk-Patrick Kuefel; father: Joseph R. Guarglia; sister: Cindy Guarglia; brothers: Joseph R. “Joey” Guarglia, Jr., Michael Guarglia; and by her nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Debbie-Jo’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
