David was born April 8, 1953 in Valdese, NC to O.I. Love Sr. and Thelma Owens Love. He was a graduate of Catawba Community College and worked as a firefighter for the city of Hickory. He also worked in Atlanta in property management for a number of years prior to moving to Raleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, O. I. Love, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Ann Hildebrand.
David is survived by his sister, Mildred Love Wood and her husband, Thomas of Milford, MI; brother, Wesley Alan Love and his wife, Deb Johnson of Raleigh; niece Diana Lynne Honeycutt Hannant and her husband, Ivan of Landrum, SC; nephew Wesley Alan Love and his wife Natasha of Waukegan, Illinois.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011 in the Brown-Wynne Funeral Chapel at 300 Saint Mary’s Street, with assistance from Dr. Mack Thompson.
