Christine was born in Plymouth, Mass. on MAY 15, 1948. She graduated from Sacred Heart in 1966, Bachelor degree in Music Performance and Strings in 1971 and Masters in Viola Performance in 1972 from University of Michigan. She also studied abroad in Vienna, Austria.
Christine has performed at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Toledo Ohio Symphony, Plymouth Michigan Symphony, Congregation of the Arts Orchestra at Dartmouth College, Temple University Festival Orchestra in Philadelphia, at some of the most famous concert halls in the world, Symphony Hall in Boston, Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Kennedy Center, Santa Fe Opera, North Carolina Chamber Players and for 50 years traveling with the NC Symphony. She enjoyed her family, performing and listening to music, traveling, collecting miniature spoons from all over the world, reading, photography and watching nature. She was a devout Catholic, loving Mom and Grammy, friend to many and had a smile that would light up the room!
Christine is survived by her daughters: Victoria (Richard) Rutkowski of Raleigh NC, Rebecca (Reginald) Sharman of Peoria, Arizona, and Ashley (Steven) Kovacs of Wake Forest. 7 grandchildren: Claudia Rutkowski of Pittsburgh, Ava Rutkowski of Raleigh, Cassidy Rutkowski of Raleigh, Abigail Kovacs of Wake Forest, Declan Kovacs of Wake Forest, Anastasia Kovacs of Wake Forest and Damien Kovacs of Wake Forest. Surviving siblings: Diane Konick (Carl) of Houston TX, Linda Paul (Larry) of Amesbury Mass., and Phillip Ragonetti (Carol) of Plymouth Mass, many nieces and nephews and many cherished friends and music colleagues.
Christine was previously married for 35 years to Donald Martin (Gloria Dean) of Holly Springs.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents Dr. and Mrs. Victor Rigonetti, sister Mary Ragonetti and her brother Louis Ragonetti.
A visitation for Christine will be held on Thursday, November 30th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, 715 Nazareth St, Raleigh, NC 27606. The Martin family will receive visitors at 2:00 pm.
Following the funeral all are welcome to attend a reception and celebration of Christine’s life at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road In Raleigh.
