Charles “Charlie” Ernest Zellman passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes Wednesday morning September 7, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born October 20, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. Charlie was raised in Queens & then Long Island, NY and later lived in Connecticut & Pittsburgh, PA before moving to Raleigh, NC in 1982.
Charlie was an electrical engineer with many firms over his career, but predominantly with Aerotech out of Pittsburgh. He was a loving father, caring grandfather, husband of Betsey Zellman for over 50 years and friend to everyone he met. He received his engineering degree from the Stevens Institute of Technology. An avid sportsman, he loved watching football & hockey, hunting, snow skiing, boating, swimming, tennis and golf.
Charlie is survived by his son Chris Zellman & wife Kelly, their daughters Ava and Brooklyn, and son Karl Zellman & wife Christy, their sons Cole and Beckett.

A memorial service for Charles will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
