Charles Calvin Cunningham, age 93, of Raleigh passed away on January 8th, 2018. He was born on December 5th, 1924 in Asheville, North Carolina. He joined the US Army at age 18 and served in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the US Army in 1967 as a Lieutenant Colonel and started his next career at Bank of America. He retired as a Senior Vice President in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Whitaker Cunningham.
He is survived by his son, Charles Stanly Cunningham and wife Kathryn Tolson Cunningham of Raleigh; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Alice) Cunningham of Raleigh, Courtney (Andy Carmichael) Cunningham of Mosier, OR, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Goad of Raleigh, and Mallory Cunningham of Redding, CA. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; Brown, Hobson, Sadie, Graham, Hardee, Whit, and Harris.
There will be a visitation on Friday, January 12th from 6-8 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's Street in Raleigh.
The graveside service is on Saturday, January 13th, 11:30 am, at Raleigh Memorial Park on 7501 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.
