Cathy Basham

She was born September 20, 1957 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Claude and Virginia Maness.

Cathy was a graduate of Bowman High School and Lees McRae College. She was retired from Horry County Schools where she worked for 30 years in data quality in the Guidance Office. Cathy lived a full and joyful life that impacted so many. Her zest for life and generous spirt inspire us all.

Surviving are her life partner of 14 years, Bill Roberts, her daughters, Brooke of Baton Rouge, LA and Claudia of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, her sisters: Barbara Bunn of Raleigh, Amy Cipau (Gabriel) of Raleigh and Gay Maness (Mike Ignelzi) of Greensboro; nieces and nephews: Atticus Ignelzi of Greensboro, Virginia Ignelzi of NY, Erick Cipau of Arlington, VA and Johanna Cipau of Miami. Cathy also leaves behind a multitude of dear friends in North and South Carolina and beyond.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, February 27 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd in Raleigh. A Celebration of Life will also be held in North Myrtle Beach this Spring.
