Barbara Gault Fox

A native of Kings Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of the late C.J. and Nell Rose Gault. She attended Kings Mountain High School and Western Carolina University. A former church organist with a passion for music, she enjoyed playing the piano and attending musical concerts. She loved the beach, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with her eight grandchildren.

A loving wife of the late Louis K. Fox, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Dana Sosna and her husband Mike of Rocky Mount; son Mike Fox and his wife Cheryl of Chapel Hill; daughter Susan Stuart and her husband Bill of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, David Mitchell and his wife Kristi of Raleigh, Jennifer Haugland and her husband Jody of Wilmington, and Christopher Mitchell of Denver; Matthew and Morgan Fox of Chapel Hill; Lindsay, Will and Paige Stuart of Raleigh, and two great- grandchildren, Sydney Mitchell and Eliza Haugland.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm, Monday June 6, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral home on Millbrook Road.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at North Raleigh United Methodist Church on Honeycutt Road, with Reverend David Clift officiating. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wake County.
