Ann G. Hubbard, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015. She was born Annie Louise Guillory on February 18, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA. She spent most of her childhood in Falls Church, VA where she graduated from Fairfax High School (1945), then graduated with honors from Mary Washington College (1949).
Ann was a passionate Christian active in each of her church homes, most recently Hudson Memorial Presbyterian in Raleigh, NC. She was a regular office volunteer and especially enjoyed her women’s circle and singles' dinner group. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a faithful friend, a fantastic cook, had a green thumb, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
She enjoyed her job at the Wake County Health Department arranging dental care for children in need for almost 20 years.
Ann is survived by her five children by the late E. Earl Hubbard (Southern Pines, NC): Cynthia Hubbard (Alexandria, VA), Laurie Hubbard (Pinehurst, NC), Edward Hubbard (and wife, Lori, Wake Forest, NC), Leta Hubbard Griffiths (and husband Simon, Raleigh, NC), and Paul Hubbard (Latham, NY); two grandsons, Michael & John (Edward & Lori), one granddaughter, Gillian (Leta & Simon); and one sister, Peggy Miller (Newport News, VA).
The family wishes to thank all her friends and relatives for their love and prayers, and the caring nurses from both Hospice and Springmoor.
A memorial service will be held in the Springmoor Auditorium (Main Entrance, North Building) in Raleigh at 10:30 am, Friday, April 17. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC (www.foodbankcenc.org) or Transitions LifeCare (http://transitionslifecare.org).
