Allen Keith Reid, age 78, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Allen was born May 26,1943 in Elberton, GA. He was the son of the late Charlie Reid and Wirtelee Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Reid.
Mr. Reid attended public school in Raleigh, NC and later graduated from Broughton High School in Wake County. On July 17th, 1974, he enlisted in the Armed Forces Reserves during the Vietnam War. On July 9th, 1979 he married the love of his life Judy Reid. You would never see one without the other. There love was an endless love ad one to look up to.
Allen was an dedicated hard worker and started his own business called Capital Footing Services. He retired in the year of 2006.
Allen was a part of Emmanuel Baptist Church as an active member with his wife Judy. They both loved going to the church and meeting with there Sunday Class.
Anyone that knew Allen knew one of the most important things in life was his wife Judy. He was the true definition of an committed and loving husband. When his wife was unable to do certain things in everyday life he stepped up with no hesitation. He was committed to taking care of her everyday, even doing her make up (smile). He didn't stop there he was a great dad and grandparent. You knew if you wanted anything he was going to say yes all he wanted was to make you laugh and smile. Even up until his last days with his family he left us with his incredible sense of humor.
Allen is survived by his daughters, Angela Kelly and Lisa Alencastro. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Gregory Allen Kelly and Crystal Williams, Great-grandchildren, Turon Murray, Christina Rodriguez and Olivia Rodriguez. His brother, Bill Charping. Allen is also survived by her extended family in North Carolina and Georgia and all of his friends.
A memorial service for Allen will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
