Josette Jean-Louis (affectionately known as Zette) a devoted wife, mother, and friend, went to her heavenly home on November 10, 2024, after a long, courageous battle with the aftereffects of COVID-19.
Born on May 4, 1947 to Marie Yvonne Cadet and Enock Fouche, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Zette embodied
resilience, grace, and an unwavering commitment to her family and education. In Haiti, Zette met the love of her life, Fred Jean-Louis, and together they dreamed of building a new life in the United States. After arriving, she stepped off the plane, looked around, and declared, “I’m home.” For the next 54 years, she and Fred shared a life filled with love, partnership, and purpose.
Zette was not only a devoted wife but also a dedicated mother to her two children, Florence Jean-Louis and Marc Jean- Louis. She was selfless, giving, and deeply committed to her family. She instilled in her children the values of hard work, determination, and purpose, guiding them with love and strength and
inspiring them to pursue their dreams.
Zette was a woman of great intellect and ambition. She achieved both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from St. John’s University, a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and growth. Her example encouraged her family and all who knew her to strive for excellence and embrace
education.
Zette had many passions especially teaching children religious instruction at Saint Joachim & Anne church through her lay ministry. She loved music, cherished trips to Broadway plays, and found simple joy in watching her favorite soap operas. Through every challenge, Zette’s strength and courage remained steadfast. She deserved more peace and happiness and less difficulty than was afforded to her
over the last few years. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Fred, her sister in law Suze, her daughter, Florence and son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Cassandra, grandsons Justin and Jacob, siblings, Marie Labissiere, Herbert Fouché and Marlene Jean Baptiste and countless loved ones who will remember her kindness, resilience, and deep love. Her legacy of love, dedication, and the importance of family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Zette will always be loved, remembered, and greatly missed.
A visitation for Josette will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428.
