He is survived by his wife Maria, his children Maria (Millie), Rosalinda (Rosa), Jesus (Tootsie) and Ricardo (Ricky); his grandchildren Christine, Roseann, Eddie, David, Enrico, Maegan, and Lysette; his great-grandchildren Vincent Francis and Rosalia Marie. He had a larger than life smile, and was an avid baseball fan, who loved his Mets. He even played on a baseball team in Red Hook for many years, and it was this team who fondly nicknamed him ‘Brooklyn’. His unique and distinct “pito” (whistle) would echo so loudly it could be heard several blocks away! We can still hear it to this day, and will dearly miss it.
His love for family was paramount – always reminding us to reach out to one another no
matter what.
Jose will be laid to rest on April 10, 2020 at St. Charles/Resurrection Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. May he rest in peace.
Although we are not able to gather at this time, please know that a memorial service will be held at a future date when it is safe to do so.
