On Jul 6, 2023, John (Jack) Charles Brown born May 5, 1937 to Mary and John Brown. Raised in Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge Brooklyn NY. Educated at St. Ephrems Elementary School and Fort Hamilton HS.
Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga during the Cold War. After serving his country, Jack worked at Republic Aircraft on Long Island until joining the NYPD.
He spent his career assigned to the Queens 109 Precinct. Jack met his soulmate, Gloria, at a church dance and they married in 1963. They remained strongly devoted to each other until her passing. He was also predeceased by his brothers Arthur and James. Jack is survived by his devoted son, Richard, and cherished daughter-in-law Laura. Jack had four grandchildren whom he loved dearly and who made him very proud: Connor, Ryan, Kieran and Alana. In addition, he is survived by his loving sister, Mary Theresa Brown-Singer. Jack was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Gregory’s RC Church in Bellerose.
He and Gloria had enjoyed traveling and relished their “snow bird” years down in the Villages, Florida.
Jack enjoyed playing cards, watching baseball and keeping up with the ongoing adventures of his grandkids! He will be missed very much.
