Barbara Lucy Mediate

Barbara spent much of her life working in the Radiology department at Mary Immaculate Hospital and retired in 2009. Above all else, Barbara was a mother. Krista, Louie (Jayme), Valerie (Francisco) Danny Boy and Jesse were her greatest joy. Her grandchildren, Danielle, Madison, Rocco, Gianna, Gabriella, Justin, Alex and Luca were the light of her life and she would take any opportunity to tell everyone just how proud she was of her large family. She is also remembered by her ex partner Daniel with whom she shared sons Danny Boy and Jesse in addition to Krista Louie and Val. Barbara was an aunt to many nieces and nephews and mother figure to many.

She spent any free time she had in the aisles of Target and CVS and her clothing collection was legendary. Her favorite term of endearment was calling someone a jerk. "Jerk" meant you were special to her. She was an absolute riot and will be missed.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. Funeral mass to be celebrated on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:45 AM at St. Gregory's the Great Church, 242-20 88th Ave, Bellerose, NY 11428. Cremation is private.
