Claudia Sue Scanlan

Claudia Sue Scanlan, 72, loving wife, mother and grandmother died June 14, 2013 after a 2 year battle with pulmonary hypertension. She died in her home in Puyallup, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Juanita and Kenneth Stoenner in Creston, IA where she was raised. She moved to Washington in 1967 with her husband, Joe, and their 7 year-old twin boys, Don and Dan. Six years later she gave birth to her youngest son, Sean.

Claudia served as President of the Sunrise PTA and the Puyallup PTSA Council and served on the Board of Directors for WA State PTSA. She worked in the Public Relations department of the Puyallup Fair. She also taught Sunday school.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, her sons Don and Sean, her daughters-in-law Rose and Kara and her beloved granddaughter, Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dan, and her grandson, Kaeden.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 1pm at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. Reception to follow.
