Jack Vardy followed the angels on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and married Charlotte (Kemp) in 1956. They were married for 68 years, living in Glen Burnie and Pasadena, Maryland until 1994. It was during this time that Jack became a coach in little league with his son, John Jr’s team and his daughter, Michele’s softball team. He loved coaching these teams in Glen Burnie and Pasadena, Maryland. This was a highlight of his life for 10 years. He attended Poly High School, graduating in 1953. He joined the navy reserve for 4 years and was drafted into the army for 2 years.
After retiring in 1994, Jack and Charlotte moved to South Gulf Cove in Port Charlotte, FL. He was Commodore of the South Gulf Cove Yacht Club and Chairman of the Building Committee which built the pavilion for the Homeowner’s Association. They had 14 years of happiness in their community with their many friends in both organizations. After having some health problems, Jack and his wife moved to Raeford, N.C. in 2009 to be closer to their daughter, Michele. It was there that they made many friends through St. Elizabeth of Hungary church in Raeford. But the love of Florida brought them back to the Port Charlotte/ Punta Gorda area where they enjoyed condo living at the preserve at Charlotte Harbor since 2017.
Jack is predeceased by his mother, Amelia Spittle (nee Hubl) ; stepfather, Walter Spittel; father, Richard Vardy; grandmother, Bertha Hubl; and numerous aunts and uncles.
