He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Holst (nee Wheeler); children Adam Holst and Linda Nixon; a grandson Thomas Nixon and his longtime friend George Kramer and his family.
Henry was a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved to hunt and fish and a hard working man. He worked for Calhan Quarry, Owens Corning and Claverlate County as a truck driver, heavy machine operator and a mechanic. He was a honorary member of Mellenville Firehouse in New York and would help anyone that needed help.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at North Chatham Cemetery in New York.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Henry's name to the Diabetes Foundation or Heart Association would be appreciated.
