Margaret D. Hernandez

She was the last of eleven children. Margaret was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, Frank G. Hernandez. Frank and Margaret are fondly remembered as always being together. She is survived by her two children, Margie and Ed Hernandez. Margaret was a beloved Auntie to her nieces and nephews, especially Annie and Louie. Also survived by her sister in law, Mary Jane De La Torre.

Margaret was known to be a story-teller, with a sharp memory for details. She often recalled stories of her many accomplishments and shared stories of her family growing up, however she was especially proud of the time she worked at the CF&I Steel Mill during WWII. Later she worked at Pepsi Cola, St Mary Corwin, and Colorado State Hospital.

She cared for her parents Porfirio and Maria De La Torre when they were in advanced age. Margaret was grateful to have lived most of her years with little or no health issues.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sandra Tienda, for all her loving care.

Celebration of life will be held Thursday May 16th at 2p.m at TG McCarthy Funeral Home in the chapel.
